On Saturday November 11th VFW Post 1599 was the host post for the Chambersburg Veterans Day Parade. Our post Commander Doug Woodring spoke he was the parade marshal and led the ceremony, VFW Post Chaplain Charles Szoch gave the opening and closing prayers. The parade speaker was Lt Colonel Kimberly Deaton, she is the current Commander of the munitions center at Letterkenny Army Depot. VFW Post 1599 Tracey Overcash and past post Commander and honorary parade marshal Tom Holden laid the memorial wreath at the square.
Other auxiliary members that participated in the parade were Sr. vice president Tracy Hershey, Treasurer Angie Kauffman, Secretary Leslie Shultz, Trustee Gloria Puchalski, Conductor Faye Rush, Chaplain Julia Marker and Linda Berberich.
It was a great parade and ceremony. What a great day to celebrate our service men and women.
